Where no auxiliary power is available, and thanks to the wide range of available materials, these flow meters can be used for almost all liquids. PVC models are widely used in swimming pools and water treatment systems. PP, PVDF, and stainless steel versions are suitable for aggressive media or demanding operating conditions. Adjustable contacts enable alarm signalling. Transmission of an analog flow signal can be achieved via a magnetic strip system.
DESCRIPTION
An orifice plate is installed between two flanges in the main pipeline. The differential pressure is transmitted via pressure ports on both sides of the orifice plate. This pressure is proportional to the square of the volumetric flow rate through the pipeline.
A variable-area flow meter installed in a bypass allows direct flow reading. The flow meter is selected from steel series 727-01 to 727-07 and plastic series 730-01, and can be equipped with contacts or a signal transmission system.
Measurement reliability depends on stable flow conditions at the measuring point. Straight pipe runs are required: at least 6× DN upstream and 4× DN downstream (DN = nominal pipe diameter).
Various versions are available in steel, stainless steel, or plastic (PVC, PP, PVDF):
DST-PVC
PVC version with steel or plastic flow meter
DST-PP
PP version with plastic flow meter
DST-PVDF
PVDF version with plastic flow meter
DST-1/2
steel version
DST-V4A
stainless steel version
