The SMB sprinkler measuring orifice is used for monitoring pump performance in test lines of fixed sprinkler systems. The device operates on the differential pressure principle.
DESCRIPTION
The SMB is installed in the pipeline as a wafer-type (sandwich) between flanges. A differential pressure is generated across the orifice, which is proportional to the square of the volumetric flow rate in the pipeline.
The differential pressure is displayed on a differential pressure gauge. The gauge scale is calibrated in flow units, allowing the current volumetric flow to be read directly from the pointer position.
In the SMB-OE version, the differential pressure is displayed on a gauge in percent. The operator can determine the volumetric equivalent in m³/min using a label attached to the indicator housing.
A special articulated design allows installation of the SMB in any flow direction. The indicator unit can be swiveled by 180° in both directions.
Optionally, in case of mechanical vibrations, the orifice and differential pressure gauge can be decoupled via a Minimess® hose connection (wall-mounted gauge).
